IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE MEETING TONIGHT

We are still having the meeting at 7pm tonight. The meeting is still going to be a hybrid in-person/Zoom meeting. the meeting will educate members on the election process and give members the opportunity to ask questions.

Thanks to efforts by the Biden administration and AFSCME, many public service workers, including AFSCME members, have seen their student loans forgiven under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

The Special Meeting that took place on 10/27/22 has concluded.

The Local Election Committee has provided us with their findings regarding the protest filed July 7, 2022 regarding the Local 714 Election that took place on June 28, 2022.

You can read the report by clicking here.

Many AFSCME members work in high-stress fields such as public safety, health care, emergency medical services and firefighting. Their jobs have become even more stressful since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced many of these workers to put their and their families’ well-being at risk while serving their communities.

But when these everyday heroes face mental health issues as a result of the high-stress environment and duties that expose them to trauma, they are often expected to deal with such challenges on their own.

It’s time to change that.

There is a special meeting for the sole purpose of presenting the election committee report regarding the protest filed by member Kim Rice.

The meeting will be on Thursday, October 27th, 2022. THIS IS AN IN PERSON ONLY MEETING.

The meeting will take place at  AFSCME Council 4, 444 East Main Street, New Britain, CT.

The meeting will start at 6pm.
