Federal money for programs and services that help millions of vulnerable Americans and employ many AFSCME members could be in jeopardy next year.

The following is adapted from remarks delivered by President Saunders at the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor’s Martin Luther King Day Breakfast on January 14, 2023.

Union family, it’s a great honor to spend this special day with you, as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as we reflect on his sacrifice and recommit to his work.

Effective July 1, 2023, the State of Connecticut has transferred the handling of these waiver requests to Quantum Health.  Waiver requests and paperwork should be submitted to your Care Coordinator Team at Quantum Health

Afscme international has provided their written decision regarding the local 714 election protest and eligibiility challenge.

The 20 page document has been uploaded below for you to read in full.

Here is the summary of the alleged violations and the decision from AFSCME International.

There were 6 alleged violations included in the protest.  After each description of the alleged violation, I have put what the outcome was.

If you correctly appealed the July to December 2022 Telework decision, and your name is on the list, you can email your supervisor and manager asking them to grant you an 80% telework schedule begining 9/23/22. You do not have to CC your Union Reps on this email.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK YOUR UNION REPS TO CHECK THE LIST TO SEE IF YOU ARE ON IT.
